Job Description

About the Role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our team as our Financial Accountant. You will be working with our Finance Team in our offices at Barangaroo.

Your key responsibilities:      

  • Assist in the monthly accounting closing process for the entities in the Australian perimeter for Potentia Energy
  • Assist in managing the relationship with external services providers i.e. accounting shared service centre, external tax and bookkeeping services provider, as well as internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit the list of Accounts Payable in accordance with contractual payment terms or invoices.
  • Support and review Accounts Receivable activities.
  • Support Treasury functions not limited to the execution of payments and bank reconciliations
  • Coordinate the preparation and issuance of local statutory financial statements of the entities in the Australian perimeter of Enel Green Power in accordance with local GAAPs and/or IFRS.
  • Support the monthly reporting to the shareholders
  • Co-ordinate the proper recognition of accounting events into the books of the entities, covering all areas of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, General Accounting, Intercompany Transactions, Bank Reconciliations, in accordance with the Group accounting manual and IFRS.
  • Assisting with other finance tasks within the team as required from time to time
  • Proactively identify the accounting impact of extraordinary transactions in the Company’s KPIs and propose to the Group functions the accounting treatments of such transactions.
  • Coordinate the external audit process with the company’s auditors.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • A Master’s Degree shall be considered advantageous/ Professional qualification in accounting (e.g. CPA).
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an accounting related field. Exposure to the energy sector in the areas of electricity generation and/or retail shall be considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Well-developed Excel skills allowing you to analyse large volumes of data and to present information in a clear manner
  • High degree of self-motivation and willingness to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work
  • Implementation of SAP and/or experience in SAP is advantageous and experience in Oracle Hyperion is essential.
  • Excellent command of the English language in a business environment.
  • Team working ability with hands-on approach and self-starter attitude.
  • Analytical thinking with decision-making skills and ability to operate across cultures and company layers.
  • Ability to work in a growing company environment and set up/implement Potentia Energy accounting procedures and systems in the Australian perimeter.
